DID YOU KNOW? Lured by 5% yields, investors have flooded into money-market funds and other cash proxies, plowing more than $7 trillion into the holdings. But the outlook for cash is dimming as rates seem almost certain to come down this year. (BARRONS)
DID YOU KNOW? This is what I read yesterday in my JP MORGAN CHASE Private Banking February Summary.... "Fed rate cuts in March are unlikely; you should still rotate out of cash. At the January FOMC meeting, Chair Powell explicitly stated that their next move is most likely a rate cut, just not at the March FOMC meeting. Reinvestment risk is real...rotate out of cash." Perhaps this cash will find a new home in real estate? DID YOU KNOW? The S&P 500 recently closed above 5,000 for the first time in history, a message about a super-strong tech sector and possibly an indicator of a strong economy now and to come. Then again, some say it's over-valued...who knows. The bottom line - inflation has been extremely good for many large corporations after all. (CNBC)
DID YOU KNOW? Dubai and Miami are the highest-ranked "EXPAT CITIES" in the world according to our international partner, BARNES INTERNATIONAL. Austin was #5. While low taxes are one of the greatest draws, digital nomads seek the following criteria: Freedom, profitability, wellness, quality, customization, taxation, flexibility, innovation, experience and transmission. There are roughly 10.2 million digital nomads globally and they visit and live in 3 countries or areas more per year. DID YOU KNOW? Have you noticed recently that designers are paying more attention to ceilings? The wood-clad ceiling is making a comeback, and yes, classic molding details are quite in style these days....did they ever go out of style? Lacquered finishes, colors, and even wallpapers are finding their way to the ceiling. (WSJ+)
DID YOU KNOW? Consumer prices in China fell for the 4th straight month in January, tumbling 0.8% year-over-year, the steepest decline since 2009. While we yearn for prices of many things to come down in the US, we should note that Deflation can be a difficult economic problem to overcome. Falling prices eat into corporate profits and prompt consumers to delay spending in anticipation of bigger bargains tomorrow. That leads companies to cut prices and put off hiring and investment, further depressing spending and worsening the deflationary cycle. (WSJ)

"Nobody is paying as much attention to your failures as you are, so fear them but don’t let them paralyze you. When you do fail, don’t feel you need to excuse them or blame others. Being gracious in victory is admirable. What’s harder, but can pay greater dividends, is being gracious in failure. Express gratitude to everyone who believed in you, and demonstrate grace to those who didn’t."

One key indicator to watch is the “Market Action Index” (MAI), which shows if the market is heating up or cooling down. If the MAI is above 30, we’re looking at a seller’s market; if it falls below 30, this means there’s more seller competition and fewer buyers. Leslie is an incredible real estate agent. She expertly marketed and sold my parent’s home within a 2-month window. I live out of state and was traveling throughout the sales process. Leslie's excellent executive skills made the process seamless. She was always available with clear communication, offering direction and guidance. I have never met Leslie face to face, but our relationship was close and personal, she offered updates on a daily basis and was a problem-solver without bringing any stress to me. I highly recommend Leslie Thompson to anyone who is looking to sell their home.
